This piece is an ode to my traditional Korean roots. The organic glass blown shape mimics the lanterns used during festivals like Yeondeunghoe. The individual bubbles contain etched designs similar to the ones that are found in my grandmother’s furniture at her apartment in Korea. The designs on the glasswork include flakes of mother of pearl to further mimic mother of pearl artwork seen in gradient al Korean furniture.
